We have compiled a list of our most frequently asked questions below, however, should you not find the answer you are looking for here, please contact our office directly and one of our professional moving and storage sales associate will be please to assist you.

You should provide as much time as you possibly can, preferably at least a month prior to the date of your planned move, at which time a free visual survey and written estimate will be provided by an identified Collins & Greig sales associate.

A:

A free visual survey is a walk through of your residence which determines the size of your move and helps Collins & Greig determine the correct method, mode of transport and any special shipping needs you may need for a successful move. The survey usually takes about one hour to complete, at which time in most cases, you will be provided with a written estimate by the Collins & Greig representative.

We recommend that you pack only unbreakable items, keeping in mind that all owner packed items travel at the owner’s risk. For more information on packing we suggest you call Collins & Greig at 416-239-2991.

Although Collins & Greig does not provide their own pet relocation services, with can provide you with the names of companies that will help you relocate your pets.

A:

Collins & Greig can provide all of the destination country requirements needed and advise on any added costs from duties and taxes when moving your vehicle.

A:

Yes, these items include but are not limited to food, wine, alcohol, liquids, corrosives, explosives, firearms and ammunition, flammables, and narcotics. Collins & Greig can provide you with a list of items that can’t be shipped, and if you are in doubt of whether an item can be shipped or not, please ask us!

A:

As each shipment is different, Collins & Greig will advise you how many days will be required once the visual survey has been completed, and the size of your shipment has been determined.

A:

Collins & Greig can arrange for storage, either at the origin of the move, or its destination. We can also provide either long or short-term storage at our climate controlled storage facility. Contact us for more details on storage.

A:

Yes Collins & Greig works with a third party insurance provider to cover your move in the event of damage or loss to your goods. One of our sales associates will outline this third party insurance program after you have agreed to the written estimate we provide.

A:

On local moves, Collins & Greig requires a $100 deposit at the time the move is booked, with a credit card number given to be used as back up for the balance due at the time of move completion. The outstanding amount may be paid by VISA, Master Card, Cash or Bank Draft. Collins & Greig will only accept Certified Cheques for the amount of the estimate with any overages applied to the credit card on file. For long distance moves payment in full is due prior to unload.
